We are excited to announce that registration for our first Mission to China in four years is now open. This mission, led by our Secretary General Dr. Edgar Kriger, is scheduled to take place from September 11th to 15th, 2023 and aims to strengthen our relationship with Chinese authorities and gain valuable insights into the evolving regulatory landscape of China.
The mission will kick off on Monday, September 11, in Beijing, with a significant meeting with the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA). This meeting will serve as a platform to engage in fruitful discussions with key representatives from the NFGA. On Tuesday, September 12, we will continue our engagement with the Chinese authorities by meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA). Here we will gain valuable insights into China's regulatory framework while actively engaging in meaningful discussions with key representatives from MARA.
On Wednesday, September 13, we will bid farewell to Beijing and head to Kunming, a city renowned for its captivating landscapes and vibrant cultural heritage.
Thursday, September 14, promises to be an enlightening day as we visit the DUS Testing Station of the NFGA in Kunming. This visit will provide a firsthand experience of China's advanced testing facilities and methodologies for distinctness, uniformity, and stability (DUS) testing of plant varieties. Additionally, we will have the privilege of visiting the Kunming International Flower Auction (KIFA), an esteemed platform for trade and promotion of ornamental varieties.
The mission's final day, Friday, September 15, will be dedicated to the 21st Kunming International Flower Expo, a grand event that showcases the best of China's horticultural achievements. Subsequently, we will visit the DUS Testing Station of MARA.
This mission embodies CIOPORA's belief that collaboration and shared knowledge are essential in shaping the future of horticulture. Your mission is our mission: to create a world where ornamental, fruit and cannabis varieties flourish, innovations are protected and where expertise is shared for the benefit of all.
We invite all members interested in expanding their knowledge and establishing strong connections in China's horticultural landscape to register for this exceptional mission here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/ciopora1/950775
